I’m in a period of chaos. I feel like I’m barely treading water, and it’s not that I’m drowning. I just seem to be floating in the middle of an ocean, with a life preserver, but no sign of land. So instead of wallowing in it, I’ve decided to focus on the good, on the happy in my life.
BECAUSE THERE IS A LOT OF IT.
1. I have a job.
Yes, my job is completely insane right now. However, when I was initially hired, it was a two year contract which ended LAST WEEK. But I got signed to a new contract, so INSERT HUGE SIGH OF RELIEF HERE.
2. These kids.
They have had me in stitches the last few weeks. I get such a kick out of their sense of humor.
I’m grateful for this hot (or cold) cup Every Single Day. It brings me way more joy than it probably should.
4. A good book.
This year I vowed to read 30 books, which is the most I’ll have read in over a decade. I’m over half way there and have read some really, really good ones. (See some of my faves here.)
Lately, I’ve been jammin’ out to AJR, The Score, Twenty One Pilots and my steadfast love, Imagine Dragons. They help me survive the work day and the carpool line.
6. Marco Polo
Are you familiar with this app that lets you video chat with your friends? It’s my current favorite and it allows me to have daily conversations with friends I may not otherwise be talking to. Plus, I get to see their beautiful faces.
Some of these things may seem trivial but they are the things that bring a smile to my face and some pep to my step during the moments when I’m wanting to scream.
What are you grateful for today, my friends?
